Pittsburgh emergency responders save a construction worker who fell down a hillside Friday.

A Pittsburgh construction manager working on a landslide mitigation project in the city was rescued Friday after he fell down a hillside.

Authorities said police, EMS and firefighters responded to a call for a construction worker over a hillside around 9:30 a.m. near the intersection of Arlington Avenue and William Street in the city’s Mt. Washington neighborhood.

They found a man had tumbled about 150 feet down into a gully. Rescuers established a rope belay system to move the man in a Stokes basket down a 65 percent grade, authorities said.

The rescue took a little more than an hour. Paramedics treated the man at the scene. He was later secured and transported to a hospital in serious but stable condition
