A Baldwin man awaiting trial on allegations that he sexually assaulted a teenage girl was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Robinson on charges of violating his bond conditions, officials said.

Charles Lantzy, 48, is being held at Allegheny County Jail in Pittsburgh, county Sheriff Chief Deputy Kevin Kraus said.

A bench warrant for Lantzy’s arrest was issued early afternoon Tuesday. Officials did not find him at his home or workplace in the South Hills.

Less than three hours later, at about 3:45 p.m., sheriff’s deputies found Lantzy’s car parked at Robinson Towne Center, then observed Lantzy walking toward it, Kraus said. Deputies took Lantzy into custody without any incident.

Lantzy was supposed to be on house arrest and work release and obeying other conditions of his bond pending his sexual assault trial.

Lantzy is accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl in April 2019.

He is charged with forcible rape, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault without consent, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors, and intimidation witness or victim.

According to Kraus, Lantzy has been arrested more than 60 times in Allegheny County since 1991.
