Presidential hopeful U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders will have a campaign rally Sunday in Pittsburgh.

His campaign announced Sanders will stop at Schenley Plaza on Forbes Avenue in North Oakland in his bid to win the Democratic nomination for president in the 2020 primary election. The rally will start at 5 p.m., and it is free and open to the public.

Sanders announced his candidacy less than two months ago and has surpassed his rivals in early fundraising, the Associated Press reported. He lost the 2016 party nomination to Hillary Clinton.

His campaign plans to visit battleground states late this week — Wisconsin on Friday and Michigan on Saturday before the Pittsburgh stop. He will make additional visits in Indiana and Ohio.

Sanders will talk about strengthening unions, guaranteeing health care and fighting against unfair trade deals.

Those who want to attend the Pittsburgh event will be permitted on a first come, first served basis. Tickets are not required, but RSVPs are encouraged.
