A new Community Market location in Bloomfield is scheduled to open on Sunday.

The new shop, located at 4401 Liberty Ave., will be open from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily.

Giant Eagle will operate the store.

“We are excited to have an opportunity to step in and provide the Bloomfield community with access to high-quality foods and services,” Dan Donovan, a Giant Eagle spokesperson, said. “We thank those who helped make this new store a reality so quickly, and our new Community Market team who will bring life to it every day.”

The Community Market will employ about 55 people. The store will offer features including produce, meat, deli and bakery sections, as well as brand name products, Western Union money orders and lottery tickets.

The site was previously occupied by a Shursave store.

The property is owned by ECHO Realty, a Pittsburgh-based company that serves as one of the nation’s largest privately held owners of grocery-anchored real estate.

ECHO Realty said Community Market will occupy the space until long-term development plans for the location are finalized. The company will be working with community leaders regarding those future plans.
