Carlow inks agreement with Community College of Allegheny County
Carlow University is joining a growing list of schools that have agreed to partner with the Community College of Allegheny County to offer transfer students an opportunity to earn both associate’s and bachelor’s degrees.
The two institutions will sign an agreement Wednesday, formalizing the arrangement.
Through the reverse articulation agreement, CCAC students who transfer to Carlow before earning their associate degree can apply credits earned at Carlow towards both a bachelor’s degree at Carlow and an associate degree at CCAC.
The agreement could be beneficial to scores of students, given that about half of the transfer students who enter Carlow come with credits from CCAC, but many stopped short of receiving their associate degree.
Officials said transfer students must have earned at least 30 credits at CCAC and at least 12 credits at Carlow to be eligible to receive an associate degree under the new program. A total of 120 credits are required to earn a bachelor’s degree from Carlow.
