Carrick fire death in August classified as homicide

A 53-year-old man’s death in a house fire last August has been classified as a homicide, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office said Friday.

Martin Thomas Boehm died Aug. 21 — four days after he was injured in a house fire along the 1600 block of Leolyn Street in Carrick.

The ME’s office said he died from smoke inhalation and burns. The manner of death was classified as a homicide.

Pittsburgh police are investigating.
