With the covid-19 crisis rendering an in-person graduation exercise impossible, the Community College of Allegheny County is holding a virtual commencement ceremony for the class of 2020 on Thursday.

The ceremony, which starts at at 7 p.m., will be streamed on the college’s YouTube channel and other social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram.

It will include the reading of graduates’ names and congratulatory messages from County Executive Rich Fitzgerald, and CCAC president Dr. Quintin Bullock, among others.

Graduates, their families and friends are being invited to watch the ceremony and participate in the celebration through social media.

CCAC’s Class of 2020 includes 2,479 graduates earning Associate of Arts, Associate of Science and Applied Science degrees, certificates and diplomas in nearly 160 programs, according to a news release from the college.
