A man who was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash earlier this month has died.

Michael May, 55, of Charleroi, died at an area hospital Tuesday after suffering a head injury in the Feb. 7 crash in the 900 block of Fifth Avenue in Pittsburgh, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police previously said the driver didn’t stop after hitting striking May and then hitting a vehicle just before 6 p.m.

Public Safety spokesman Chris Togneri previously said the initial investigation showed that the motorist was driving at a high rate of speed when May was hit.

The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 412-323-7800.
