Pittsburgh police are investigating a report of an attempted abduction Tuesday of a teenage girl by two men near Bakery Square in East Liberty.

Officers from the city’s Zone 5 station were dispatched to the 300 block of North Euclid Avenue shortly before 7 p.m. to investigate, according to a police spokeswoman.

The girl told officers that two men tried to abduct her near the intersection of Fifth and Penn avenues, but she ran from them. She was not injured.

Police searched the crime scene and are reviewing footage from security cameras in the area.

The case is being handled by the city’s special victims unit.
