A man is in critical condition after being shot in the chest and crashing his car near the McKees Rocks police station late Tuesday, Allegheny County police said.

Emergency crews responded around 11:30 p.m. after a Ford Taurus crashed in front of the station along Bell Avenue.

Inside, they said they found a 24-year-old man with bullet wounds to the chest. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

The homicide unit is investigating.

Anyone with information is asked to call the county tip line at 1-833-255-8477 (ALL-TIPS). Callers can remain anonymous.
