Investigators believe a man who showed up to Washington Hospital Tuesday night with critical wounds was stabbed in Stowe, Allegheny County police said.

Washington police responded to the hospital after the 42-year-old man took himself to the emergency department, Lt. Ken Ruckel said. Local police learned that the man, who investigators did not identify, was likely stabbed in Allegheny County.

Allegheny County police began an investigation, and the victim was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital, Ruckel said. The man remains in critical but stable condition.

Police said they have neither a motive nor a suspect in the stabbing

Anyone with information is asked to contact the county police tip line at 1-833-255-8477. Callers can remain anonymous.
