Three Kane Community Living residents have now died from coronavirus-related complications, according to data from Allegheny County.

That’s up from two deaths that were reported Friday.

The deaths occurred in Kane’s Glen Hazel location, where at least 25 residents have tested positive for covid-19. Eight tests among residents still are pending.

According to the county’s numbers updated Saturday, two residents have been hospitalized with the virus, which so far has not been reported in Kane’s three other facilities.

Fifteen employees at the Glen Hazel facility have tested positive, according to the county website, while 11 have results that are pending.

Twenty-one residents and 21 staff members have tested negative for the virus.

The virus was first reported March 25 in Kane’s Glen Hazel location when an employee tested positive. Two residents tested positive two days later.

Six residents and six staff members have been tested in Kane’s Scott facility. One resident’s test and three employee tests are pending. The others have been negative.

At Kane’s McKeesport location, 11 residents have tested negative. Seven employees have been negative, according to the county.

In Ross, six residents have been negative while one test remains pending. Six employees there have tested negative. Two employee tests are pending.

The number of cases in nursing homes statewide has continued to grow. As of Friday, there were 1,209 covid-19 cases across 181 long-term care facilities, according to the Department of Health.

That includes dozens of cases at Brighton Rehabilitation and Wellness Center, a Beaver County nursing home where officials are presuming that all residents and employees have the virus.
