A worker at the Amazon fulfillment center in Crafton tested positive for the coronavirus, spokeswoman Rachael Lighty confirmed.

“We are supporting the individual who is recovering,” Lighty said. “Our top concern is ensuring the health and safety of our employees and we are following guidelines from health officials and medical experts, and are taking extreme measures to ensure the safety of employees at our site.”

Between April and June, the company is expected to spend about $4 billion in coronavirus-related initiatives that ensure customers receive their products while keeping employees safe. Funds went toward safety measures like cleaning and social distancing along with personal protective gear, disinfectant spraying and temperature checks.

According to officials, employees are notified if a confirmed case occurs at an Amazon facility, even if they did not come in direct contact with the person who tested positive.
