One of three people hurt Monday afternoon when the vehicle they were riding in crashed after fleeing a traffic stop in Avalon has died.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner identified the deceased as Tyrone Jackson, 19, of Bellevue.

Of the other two taken to hospitals, one was in critical condition and the third was stable, according to Allegheny County Police, who helped Avalon officers. Authorities did not identify them.

According to county police, Avalon officers pulled over the Buick Regal shortly before 5 p.m. at California Avenue and Homes Street, but the driver fled, leading police on a high-speed chase before crashing at Florence and Shade avenues in Bellevue.

Police said they found a firearm inside the car.

Additional details weren’t immediately available.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the county police tip line at 833-255-8477.
