Two houses were damaged and one person is displaced after a fire in Duquesne on Sunday.

The fire was reported around 11:20 a.m. at an abandoned house at 18 South Seventh St.

The fire quickly spread to a neighboring house that was occupied.

Duquesne Volunteer Fire Department Chief Frank Cobb said both houses were burning when firefighters arrived on scene around 11:30 a.m.

Cobb said it took crews about two hours to get the fire under control.

No one was injured.

The man who lived in the neighboring house, estimated to be in his 40s, was displaced and is staying with family.

Cobb said the man’s house is damaged, but could be salvaged.

Cobb didn’t know what may have caused the fire. It’s under investigation by the Allegheny County Fire Marshal’s Office.
