Dinosaurs invade PPG Paints Arena in 'Jurassic World Live Tour'
There will be loud roars bellowing from PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh.
Dinosaurs come to life Friday through Sunday in “Jurassic World Live Tour.”
The production showcases gigantic animatronic and performer-operated dinosaurs. It features more than 24 film-accurate, life-sized dinosaurs, including fan-favorite Velociraptor Blue and a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
More than 40 feet in length, the dinosaurs are custom-built with the latest technology, scientific precision and Hollywood studio quality, according to the producers of the show, Feld Entertainment.
Attendees might recognize music from the “Jurassic World” score and some of the movie’s dinosaurs.
On Friday, media members were invited on the floor of the arena to learn about these prehistoric creatures. Velociraptor Blue made an appearance.

Madison Embry plays Dr. Kate Walker, a genetic biologist who protects a new dinosaur named Jeanie the Troodon.
Embry said dinosaurs continue to intrigue people because they are larger than life.
“Nothing has been able to debunk the fantastical feeling they give people,” Embry said. “It’s the ultimate reality. The possibilities with dinosaurs are endless. They are fascinating and curious to people.”
The dinosaurs are operated by humans who control their movement. The largest one is 42 feet tall and manned by two people. Embry said they are authentic in that they embody the creatures from the “Jurassic World” films.
Jurassic World Live Tour will visit 80 cities in two years.
“Pittsburgh is such a great city,” Embry said. “The people here are so passionate about everything, especially their sports teams. They were here cheering for the dinosaurs last night.”
Shows are 7 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday and noon and 4 p.m. Sunday
Tickets start at $20.
