Donate blood at Hotel Monaco in Pittsburgh
Donate blood and enjoy a mocktail afterwards.
The Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh, Downtown, is hosting a blood drive through Vitalant, a nonprofit transfusion medicine organization that comprises a network of nearly a dozen community blood centers, from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The event is to help with the current critical shortage of the local blood supply, according to a news release.
As blood donations can often be anxiety inducing, Hotel Monaco is hoping to make them more fun and enjoyable with a happy-hour themed drive, the release says.
There is no booze at this happy hour – just good karma and donations bringing happiness to others, according to the release.
All who donate will enjoy mocktails and snacks from The Commoner, upbeat tunes from DJ Sosa and a voucher to enjoy a drink in the Biergarten in the future.
Appointments are encouraged but not required.
Donors can make an appointment by visiting https://donateblood.centralbloodbank.org/AppointmentScheduling.aspx and searching for donor ID H044.
