Urban Pathways 6-12 Charter School and K-5 College Charter School, both in downtown Pittsburgh, will be closed Thursday and Friday because of an unspecified threat.

The schools posted notices to their websites and Facebook pages that they had been “alerted by law enforcement of an alleged threat” that would necessitate closing their buildings and cancelling all activities.

“Our primary concern is the safety of our students and staff. The administration of Urban Pathways 6-12 Charter School (and UPCS K-5) will continue to work with authorities and provide updates as information becomes available,” the statements said.
