Dunkin' and Baskin-Robbins open combination store in Bloomfield
Coffee, doughnuts and ice cream? All in one place?
The new Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins store opened Monday on Liberty Avenue in Bloomfield.
Customers lined up at 5 a.m. to grab a free coffee mug and continued to walk in throughout the day to pick up drinks, sandwiches and sweet treats.
The combination store includes a cold beverage tap system, front glass display cases of doughnuts and ice cream flavors, video queue screens and a pick-up area for on-the-go mobile orders.
“Dunkin’ coffee gets me through my day,” said Laura Boehm, of South Park, who works nearby for UPMC.
Her coworkers, Joe Uzelac of Lower Burrell, Dana Yurisinec of Plum and Patrick Matkozich of Level Green, also enjoyed beverages.
“I am hooked on this place,” said Matkozich, who was drinking an extra large pumpkin spice coffee and eating a bacon-egg-and-cheese sandwich. “We will be back.”
Anthony Braun, chief operating and financial officer of Heartland Restaurant Group, said customers have given positive feedback to the newest Dunkin’ stores. The group owns 54 Dunkin’ locations in Western Pennsylvania.

He said the Bloomfield location is the only true combination store of Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins, which also offers custom-made ice cream cakes.
“We expect our guests to be very excited about the addition of the delicious lineup of Baskin-Robbins ice cream novelties and frozen sweet treats to our Dunkin’ beverage and food offerings,” Braun said.
Bloomfield is a popular neighborhood with lots of foot traffic, said Chelsea Halker, marketing manager for Heartland Restaurant Group.
Christina Howell, executive director of Bloomfield Development Corp., said she hopes the store will bring people further into the heart of Bloomfield.
From 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday, former Pittsburgh Penguins player Phil Bourque will be giving away 50 sets of tickets to an upcoming game.
The next Dunkin’ locations in the region to open will be in Slippery Rock, Steubenville and Winterville, Ohio, followed by Monroeville in spring 2020. The popular chain ditched the “Donuts” portion of its name in April, rebranding as Dunkin’.
