Allegheny County homicide detectives and Duquesne police are investigating a shooting in the city that sent a 17-year-old boy to a hospital.

Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Duquesne Boulevard around 6:10 p.m. and found a vehicle had crashed into a wall.

County police said one of the four passengers, the boy who was shot, was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

County officials tweeted that Route 837 is closed between North Second Street and Overland Avenue. It was still closed as of 8:45 p.m. It’s unclear when it would reopen.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call the county police tip line 833-255-8477. Callers can remain anonymous.
