Allegheny County police have charged an 18-year-old man in connection to a report of a shooting Tuesday night in Homestead.

Police are looking for tips about a second suspect seen with him.

The motive for the shooting is not known, according to police. It is also not know if anything or anyone was hit.

Jerome Felton of Duquesne is accused of being the driver of a white Nissan Rogue that was seen leaving the 100 block of West 15th Street at Hays Street after gunshots were reported there just before 8:30 p.m., police said.

Homestead police tried to stop the SUV. The SUV led police on a chase through Munhall, West Mifflin and into Duquesne. There, the driver, later identified at Felton, stopped the vehicle and he and second man got out and ran, police said. As Felton ran, officers noticed he had a pistol.

Police surrounded the area where the chase ended and eventually found and arrested Felton. Police said officers later learned that the SUV Felton was driving was reported stolen out of Duquesne two hours earlier and the 9mm handgun Felton was carry was reported stolen out of Glassport in 2018.

The second man wasn’t found.

Anyone with information concerning this incident or the identity of the second man is asked to call the Allegheny County Police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (1-833-255-8477). Callers can remain anonymous.
