Extras needed for Titanic film 'Unsinkable' in McKees Rocks

Extras are needed to play passengers on the Titanic for the next round of filming for an independent film about the sinking of the ship and its aftermath.

The actors and actresses will work in pivotal 1912 scenes that will be filmed in McKees Rocks next week for “Unsinkable,” according to a post on Nancy Mosser Casting’s Facebook page.

“Unsinkable” is a production of PMI Films. It is expected to be released in December. It tells the story of the questionable investigation into the sinking of the ship, the political forces surrounding the inquiry and the personal stories of those aboard, according to PMI’s website.

The film has been shot at locations around the Pittsburgh area, including the Settlers Cabin Wave Pool.

Since the film is depicting life in 1912, no facial piercings or facial tattoos are permitted.

Men must be willing to shave, as full beards, mustaches and clean-shaven were the prominent styles at the time. No 5 o’clock shadows, stylized facial hair, shaved heads or overly stylized haircuts are allowed.

Women must have solid natural hair colors and natural nails. No hair highlights are permitted.

Scenes will be filmed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Actors and actresses will be paid on the day of filming. It will be $80 for 8 hours ($10 per hour) and time and a half after that.

The filming schedules are as follows:

• Monday, June 3: Men ages 18 years old and older to play first-class passengers. Some men will also be needed to work on Wednesday, June 5. Please indicate if you can do both when submitting. Write “Monday” in the subject line when submitting.

• Tuesday, June 4: Men and women ages 18 years old and older to play crew, first-class, second class and steerage passengers. Write “Tuesday” in the subject line when submitting.

• Wednesday, June 5: Men and women ages 18 years old and older first-class, second-class and steerage passengers. Write “Wednesday” in the subject line when submitting.
