A Philadelphia woman who police said was headed to Wilkinsburg was instead in federal court Friday, charged with possession of about 80,000 stamp bags of heroin.

U.S. Attorney Scott W. Brady said Fiordaliza Rodriguez Reyes, 32, of Philadelphia was stopped on the Pennsylvania Turnpike on Thursday by troopers from the state police’s Safe Highways Through Effective Law Enforcement and Detection unit, where they found 1,600 “bricks” of suspected heroin. That’s about 80,000 stamp bags.

The bricks contained about 800 grams of heroin — almost 2 pounds.

Reyes was arrested and charged in U.S. District Court in Pittsburgh with possession with intent to distribute heroin.

If convicted, she faces up to 40 years in prison and fines up $5 million.
