A Pittsburgh-based veterans organization is prepared to distribute 300 boxes of food Tuesday to veterans in need during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Veterans Leadership Program is partnering with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, Giant Eagle and Sysco to provide the food. The distribution will start at noon and will last until all 300 boxes are distributed, according to Toshua Jarrett, the program’s chief development officer.

A similar distribution on April 13 served 180 people. The group talked to the food bank about the need and another distribution was scheduled, Jarrett said.

The program’s offices are at 2934 Smallman St. in Pittsburgh’s Strip District.

Vehicles should enter Mulberry Way on 29th Street, between Penn and Smallman, to participate in the no-contact, drive-thru pickup.

Another distribution is planned for May 11.
