Food Podcast: Hitting Super Bowl LIV and Taste of the NFL
The Food Podcast went to the Super Bowl.
Through a partnership with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Food Bank and board member Bill Fuller — executive chef of the big Burrito restaurant group — were presented tickets to the game.
While in Miami, Fuller and Brian Gulish, vice president of marketing and communications at the Food Bank, attended several events, including Taste of the NFL’s Party With a Purpose.
“While there were many local and national media outlets in attendance covering the event, we were the only Food Bank present,” Gulish said. “We were able to gather great interviews and insight from notable current and former NFL players, celebrities, and nationally accredited chefs.”
Each of the 32 NFL teams were represented by chefs from their city, who prepared signature dishes for guests to sample. In addition, player reps were in attendance.
“We were able to interview several players with Pittsburgh ties, including Tony Dorsett and his son Anthony Dorsett Jr., Arizona Cardinals center A.Q. Shipley, and Steelers great Andy Russell,” Gulish said. “It’s amazing to hear some of the personal stories of the players, many themselves who have a history of food insecurity.”
This week’s podcast features interviews with Dorsett Jr., as well as Taste of the NFL founder Wayne Kostroski.
