Wade Tucker stands for a portrait along Hegner Way in Sewickley in December. Tucker created the TrendTeams Fantasy Social Media app.

Trend Teams, a Pittsburgh-based social media startup, similar to fantasy sports games like football or baseball, has partnered with Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank to help feed people in need.

Trend Teams is sponsoring The Food Podcast on location in Miami during Super Bowl LIV weekend.

“I really can’t think of a better organization to be involved with,” said Wade Tucker, founder and CEO of Trend Teams. “Being able to give back where I grew up, in such a great community, it’s very important to me.”

In addition to sponsoring the podcast, Trend Teams will be donating a portion of proceeds from upcoming contests to the Food Bank.

“Trend Teams is the fantasy game for everyone,” Tucker said. “If sports aren’t your interest, Trend Teams provides a fantasy gaming concept to fits everyone’s liking.”

Each game involves picking a roster of 10 influencers, with a $20,000 budget. The more socially active the public figure, the more expensive the salary.

“The game is definitely a new twist on daily fantasy sports,” said podcast host Brian Gulish. “Even the most casual social media user will find the game interesting.”
