Free document shredding, electronic recycling this week at 15 Guardian Storage locations

Guardian Storage is hosting a series of free document shredding and electronic recycling events this week at 15 of its locations in the Pittsburgh area.

Participants can drop off up to five boxes of paper for shredding. All metal clips must be removed.

In addition to shredding unwanted documents, electronic equipment such as desktop and laptop computers,cell phones, printers and appliances without Freon can be recycled. Television and computer monitors cannot be accepted. The electronics recycling is being handled through a partnership with Evolution E-cycle.

Here is the schedule for the shredding and recycling events, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.:

• Thursday, April 11: Ross, Cranberry and Pleasant Hills.

• Friday, April 12: Hampton, Monroeville (Haymaker Road), Strip District and Waterfront (Homestead).

• Saturday, April 13: Monroeville (Route 22), Shadyside, Fox Chapel, Washington, North Huntingdon, Forest Hills, Robinson and Bridgeville.
