Hidden camera found in employee bathroom at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh police and hospital security are investigating the discovery of a camera hidden in an employee bathroom at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh’s Bloomfield neighborhood.
The person responsible has been identified, according to a statement from a spokesperson for Allegheny Health Network, which operates the hospital.
“The recent discovery of a hidden camera in an employee restroom at West Penn Hospital prompted an immediate investigation by the hospital’s security team, including notification of law enforcement,” the statement said.
“The culprit in this criminal act has been identified and will be prosecuted accordingly. We are also working with law enforcement to retrieve photographs and/or video taken by the culprit and will be notifying identifiable individuals who have been victimized by the crime,” the statement added. “We place the highest priority on safeguarding the privacy and dignity of our employees, patients and visitors, and are appalled that such a reprehensible act was committed on our campus.”
A spokesperson for Allegheny Health Network declined to comment further.
A spokesman for the Pittsburgh police referred questions to AHN officials.
