One man died Tuesday morning when a cargo truck tipped over onto his car on Steubenville Pike in Robinson, authorities said.

The incident happened about 9 a.m. near the Interstate 79 interchange, an emergency dispatcher said.

Police said they arrived on scene to find the cargo truck had rolled over on top of another vehicle, trapping that driver inside, according to Tribune-Review news partner WPXI-TV.

The driver of the cargo truck was headed south and trying to make the left turn onto I-79 north, according to police. The other driver was headed north.

Investigators told the TV station that both drivers had a steady green arrow, and it appears the car was hit by the truck as the truck was making the left turn. The truck tipped and rolled over the car.

The early indication is that the truck driver was trying to beat the light or beat traffic, which they say likely played into the crash, police told WPXI.

The road was open again about 3:30 p.m.
