Kennywood Park is scheduled to open to visitors on Friday, July 10 after its season start was delayed twice because of the covid-19 pandemic.

Season pass-holders will be able to visit beginning Friday and others may visit beginning on Monday, July 13, park officials said.

Sandcastle Waterpark will be open to all beginning Friday.

The parks will sell tickets and passes online only. Walk-up sales won’t be available this summer as the facilities intend to limit the number of people at each site to comply with social distancing guidelines.

Those planning to attend are encouraged to RSVP for the day they want to visit.

Those who previously RSVPed for visits on Friday or later will not need to make new arrangements. Season pass-holders who planned to attend through Thursday will need to schedule new visits through kennywood.com/rsvp or sandcastlewaterpark.com/rsvp.

Passes for the current season that were purchased by June 14 also include admission for the 2021 season.

The number of people in each building or on each ride at a given time also will be limited, park officials said. Sanitizing stations and enhanced cleaning measures will be in place.

All those entering each park will have their temperatures checked and will be required to wear a face covering, except for children younger than 3.

Previous opening dates in early May and on Tuesday were delayed for the Allegheny County parks.

Sister park Idlewild & SoakZone, in Ligonier Township, opened to season pass-holders on Tuesday and will open to all on Saturday, with similar health measures in place.
