Pittsburgh adoptee to compete in Animal Planet's 'Puppy Bowl XVI'
An adoptee from Animal Friends in Ohio Township has once again reached the pinnacle of puppy professional athletics: a spot on the roster for Animal Planet’s “Puppy Bowl XVI,” which will air at 3 p.m. on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 2.
Kenny was one of a litter of puppies transferred to Animal Friends from a partner organization. After filming the Puppy Bowl in October in New York City, Kenny returned to Pittsburgh to meet his adoptive family.
To celebrate his spot in the Puppy Bowl, Animal Friends will host its own “Adopt-a-Bowl” at 3 p.m., Feb. 1 at its facility, 562 Camp Horne Road in Ohio Township.
Featuring 61 dedicated animal shelters and rescue organizations in more than 25 states, 2020 marks the 16th year for the Puppy Bowl, which will kick off with a “pre-game” show at 2 p.m., and Feb. 1 will see the return of Dog Bowl III, a one-hour competition for adult and senior dogs living in rescues and shelters.
And if they can stand the overload of cuteness, Puppy Bowl viewers will be able to root for their favorite “players” from Team Fluff and Team Ruff.
The Puppy Bowl will be broadcast on Animal Planet. For those unfamiliar with the show, here’s a small taste from last year.
