The Blue Slide Park tribute to Mac Miller has been moved to Friday.

The Mac Miller Memoir posted the date change on Twitter.

“Due to circumstances beyond our control, the memorial will occur on Friday, September 6, instead of the 7th.”

There was also a Facebook link which mentions a second event on Sept. 7, the anniversary of Miller’s death at “The Spot Etc,” a restaurant and bar in Penn Hills.

The Friday event will still be held at the Blue Side Park playground in Frick Park. It was supposed to be held on the one year anniversary of his passing. That is the first spot fans gathered when they heard about the rapper’s death. Miller, who grew up in Point Breeze, named his 2011 debut studio album “Blue Slide Park.”

Mourners can gather between 4 and 9 p.m. Friday.

The City of Pittsburgh said in a tweet that another organization had already applied for, and received a special events permit for an event there for children on Saturday.

Miller’s Twitter fans responded that they aren’t happy about the move because some of them made travel arrangements for the weekend.

Miller, 26, was found unresponsive in his Los Angeles home shortly before noon on Sept. 7, 2018. He was pronounced dead a short time later. A Los Angeles man was arrested Wednesday on charges that he sold counterfeit opoid pills to Miller two days before he died of an overdose according to the Associated Press.

Fans can win a framed print of the star which will be raffled off at the Friday event by a local Pittsburgh artist.
