A man was in critical but stable condition Thursday night after he was shot in Pittsburgh’s North Side neighborhood.

City public safety officials said officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert for shots fired shortly after 9 p.m. along the 2600 block of Linwood Avenue.

Police found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the hip area.

Police are searching for a dark grey Ford Focus with two to three people inside in connection with the incident, according to officials.

That vehicle also reportedly hit a parked car as it fled. Detectives from the city’s Major Crimes and the Crime Scene Unit are processing the scene at Linwood Avenue near Luray Street.

The investigation is ongoing.
