Man critically wounded in McKeesport shooting

Allegheny County police detectives are seeking information from the public about a shooting in McKeesport early Tuesday morning that left a man in critical condition.

The shooting occurred shortly after 2 a.m. in the 600 block of Evans Avenue, according to county police.

Investigators say McKeesport police responding to a call for shots fired were alerted that the victim, a 29-year-old man who was shot multiple times, had walked into a local hospital for treatment.

His name was not released.

Police say the victim and two friend were approaching approaching Evans Avenue from Beacon Street when an unknown person began firing towards the victim. One of the men’s friends transported him to the hospital.

Investigators do not have a description of the gunman and the motive for the shooting.
