Police are searching for a suspect believed to have shot and seriously injured another man Saturday night in Pittsburgh’s Carrick neighborhood, officials said.
Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 1500 block of Amanda Street around 7:45 p.m., Department of Public Safety spokesman Chris Togneri said.
Police from Zone 3 found a man they determined had run from where he was shot to the 1400 block of Brownsville Road, Togneri said.
Police provided initial aid until medics arrived and took the man to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, Togneri said. An update on his condition was not available late Sunday.
Police are searching for a possible suspect they described as a short man wearing a hoodie who may have run from the site of the shooting. No further descriptions or details were provided.
Detectives with Pittsburgh’s Violent Crimes Unit are investigating.
