A man who was being robbed early Saturday was stabbed in Bedford Dwellings, according to Pittsburgh Police.

The man was stabbed in his left shoulder after two male suspects unsuccessfully tried to rob him around 2:30 a.m. in the 2500 block of Bedford Avenue, according to public information officer Cara Cruz. The man told police he was followed and confronted by the pair before being stabbed from behind as he tried to run away.

The suspects fled when he threatened to call police.

He was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, police said.
