A man in his 30s was in stable condition after being shot in the leg early Saturday in Bloomfield, Pittsburgh police said.

The man told police he and his girlfriend were at a residence in the 4500 block of Friendship Avenue when another man came to the door. Once the man at the door was inside, there was an altercation. The man who was at the door shot the man inside the residence, police said.

The girlfriend of the man who was shot drove him to a local hospital, where police were alerted just before 1:30 a.m.

SWAT unit members responded to make sure the suspected shooter was no longer in the residence before members of the crime scene unit processed the scene.

Police said the relationship between the suspected shooter and the man who was shot wasn’t clear.
