An early morning SWAT situation in Pittsburgh’s Fineview neighborhood ended when a man was taken into custory at about 4:40 a.m. Monday, police said.

The situation was resolved after several hours of attempted negotiations.

Officers from Zone 1 were called just after 2:15 a.m. to the 1700 block of Belleau Street for a man wanted on a warrant who barricaded himself inside the apartment.

SWAT officers secured the area and tried to communicate with the suspect but were unsuccessful, Cara Cruz, public safety spokeswoman, said.

They were able to enter the first-floor apartment and with the help of a K9, took the man into custody. A gun was recovered during the search.
