Authorities have identified a 17-year-old girl and a 20-year-old man killed in a triple shooting Tuesday night in Pittsburgh’s Hill District.

The shooting happened at a home on McNeil Place that was being rented out as an Airbnb, according to the home-rental company.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victims as Alexus N. Chester, 17, and Tyrese Smith, 20, both of Pittsburgh.

The shooting happened about 11:30 p.m., according to police. A ShotSpotter notification detected multiple gunshots, and police and paramedics arrived to find a man and woman with gunshot wounds.

Smith was pronounced dead at the scene. Chester was taken to UPMC Presbyterian where she was pronounced dead around 3 a.m.

Ben Breit, an Airbnb spokesman, said the violence goes against “everything our global community stands for.”

“We are horrified by the loss of life, and our thoughts are with the victims of this senseless tragedy,” he said in a statement.

Police said a third person suffered a minor injury in the gunfire and drove themselves to the hospital.

Breit said Airbnb has removed the guest associated with the reservation while the investigation continues, and the company will “stand ready to support Pittsburgh (police).”

He said the house listing has also been suspended.
