Martorano's Prime steakhouse coming to Pittsburgh's Rivers Casino
A juicy steak will soon be a sure bet at Pittsburgh’s Rivers Casino.
Celebrity chef Steve Martorano plans to bring his high-end steakhouse Martorano’s Prime to the North Shore casino.
The restaurant is scheduled to open later this year.
“Pittsburgh is absolutely a foodie town, plus it has a strong Italian-American community,” Martorano said in a statement. “It’s a work-hard, play-hard city that’s proud of its history and always moving forward. I can relate to that. And the riverfront views from our Rivers Casino restaurant will take your breath away. I can’t wait to get up and running.”
Martorano will train employees this fall. Andrew’s Steak & Seafood, the casino’s original steakhouse, will permanently close after Labor Day weekend to make way for Martorano’s Prime.
The renovation is expected to take several months.

Rivers Casino Pittsburgh general manager Bill Keena said in a statement that his favorite items on Martorano’s menu include meatball and salad, eggplant stack, the lobster francaise and homemade pappardelle with sausage.
“Just knowing Steve’s world-famous menu will soon be available here in Pittsburgh is making my mouth water,” Keena said.
Martorano announced his fourth location on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
Martorano operates restaurants in Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Café Martorano, his flagship restaurant in Florida, was recognized by Open Table as among the “100 Hottest Restaurants in America.”
Martorano began selling sandwiches door-to-door in Philadelphia. Many of his restaurant dishes originated as family recipes, taught to him by his late grandmother. He has written two books: “Yo Cuz! My Life, My Food, My Way” and “It Ain’t Sauce, It’s Gravy.”
Rivers Casino, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary in Pittsburgh this month, continues to add and evolve its attractions, not only on the gaming floor but through other amenities. The new Event Center is a 25,000-square-foot grand hall for concerts, expos and galas and the casino runs the Rivers Sportsbook. The casino also unveiled plans for The Landing Hotel, opening in 2021.
The restaurant will include caramel-and-white marble facades and floor-to-ceiling glass walls. There will be tables for intimate and group dining.
Martorano’s Prime also will feature a central bar and private dining area. Interiors will have crystal chandeliers, mahogany, cream-colored leather, crisp linens and polished silver. There will be seating for about 200, including seasonal tables on the outdoor patio.
Rivers Casino offers nine restaurants and bars.
