McArdle Roadway between the Liberty Bridge and Mt. Washington will close for part of the weekend, Pittsburgh officials said Thursday.

The road will close between the bridge and Grandview Avenue on Feb. 9 and 10 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. while crews remove debris along the road. The work is a proactive approach to preventing hillside erosion, officials said.

No detours will be posted. Drivers can use the Liberty Tunnel to Route 51 north to Woodruff and Merrimac streets to bypass the closure.

Questions should be directed to Jeff Skalican, deputy director of the Department of Mobility and Infrastructure at 412-496-5919.
