A McKees Rocks man pleaded guilty in federal court to possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.

Terrance Murphy, 46, is expected to be sentenced Aug. 9.

He made his guilty plea before U.S. District Judge Cathy Bissoon, authorities said.

Murphy was arrested at a traffic stop by the FBI Opioid Task Force on Nov. 8, 2017, shortly after he left his McKees Rocks home.

Authorities said a search of his vehicle netted approximately 26 grams of fentanyl.

He admitted to FBI investigators that he was a fentanyl distributor and would buy and sell fentanyl in the Pittsburgh area, authorities said.

Murphy could be sentenced up to 20 years in prison, a $1 million fine, or both.

The FBI – Western District of Pennsylvania Opioid Task Force conducted the investigation leading to the guilty plea in this case.
