A McKeesport man was charged with reckless driving and other offenses after allegedly crashing into a police cruiser in the Strip District.

Pittsburgh police said Dontel Sayles, 29, was driving under the influence when he rear-ended an officer’s marked car near the intersection of Railroad and 23rd streets early Monday morning while an officer was tending to a disabled vehicle along the railroad tracks nearby.

No one was hurt in connection with the crash, according to city police.

Online court documents indicate Sayles also was charged with DUI, operating a vehicle without official certificate, registration and certificate of title and required financial responsibility. His preliminary hearing’s scheduled for April 14 in Pittsburgh Municipal Court.
