It has precision courses called Beehive, The Rattler and The Three Rivers and timed event courses with names like Mouse Trap and Snowman.

It’s the 41st annual Mid-Atlantic Police Motorcycle Rodeo. Pittsburgh hosts the event this weekend.

The main competition takes place on Saturday with 20 police departments and 78 riders.

Events will be held on Art Rooney Avenue outside Heinz Field, beginning at 8:30 a.m. and feature displays of police and EMS motorcycle skills.

The event benefits the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania to support year-round sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

The biker rodeo dates back to 1979 when the first such event was held in Washington, D.C. The goal, then as now, is to build both skills and working relationships between motorcycle officers.
