The Mon Wharf parking area in Downtown will be closed Tuesday because of a flood advisory issued by the National Weather Service.

Because of recent rainfall, the Ohio River at Pittsburgh is expected to rise above 18 feet.

The advisory will remain in effect until Saturday morning, according to the weather service. The Wharf will remain closed until further notice.

Motorists can find additional parking at the Pittsburgh Public Parking Authority garages on First Avenue and the Second Avenue Plaza.

Water begins to flow onto the Wharf when the river reaches 18 feet and is completely flooded when it hits 19.5 feet.

The Ohio River is expected to rise to 19 feet by Tuesday night, the weather service reported.
