A man suffered minor injuries when his car was pinned by a tractor-trailer Wednesday morning on the Liberty Bridge, according to Pittsburgh police.
The crash was reported just before 5:40 a.m. in the outbound lanes.
When emergency crews arrived on scene, they found the man’s car pinned against a jersey barrier by a tractor-trailer. The man was extricated from his car and taken to UPMC Mercy in Uptown with minor injuries.
Investigators said the driver of the tractor-trailer was changing from the left to the right lane and didn’t see the car in his blind spot. He faces possible charges for careless driving or an unsafe lane change, according to police.
Police didn’t identify the victim or the tractor-trailer driver.
The collision shut down the outbound lanes and delayed traffic during Wednesday’s morning commute. They reopened to traffic just after 7:30 a.m.
