Multiple arrests made, drugs and guns confiscated in Hazelwood
Pittsburgh police arrested multiple suspects and seized illegal narcotics and guns as part of a lengthy drug investigation in Hazelwood.
SWAT offices and city detectives executed a search warrant around 6 a.m. Thursday at a home along the 200 block of Winston Street.
Authorities said officers found three guns including a semi-automatic rifle, bullets, “large amounts” of heroin, crack cocaine and marijuana, a narcotics packing station and hundreds of dollars.
Police also recovered more heroin, fentanyl, crack cocaine and marijuana in a vehicle outside the residence.
Authorities said five adults were arrested at the scene and another was charged via summons.
The suspects are Kayvon Burgess, 18, of Swissvale; Don Copeland, 18, of Hazelwood; Curtis Ford, 26, of the North Side; Khalil Murray, 18, of Hazelwood; Dorian Wood, 30, of Wilmerding; and Pauline Moran, 44, of McKeesport.
They all are charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal conspiracy and firearms violations.
Curtis Newkirk, 55, of McKeesport and a juvenile were arrested on aggravated assault warrants.
Authorities said the investigation continues and more charges may be filed.
It was the second major drug bust made in the area in the last two days.
