No one was hurt when a security guard shot at a suspect who brought a gun into a bar in Pittsburgh’s Hill District early Tuesday morning, according to city public safety officials.

The security guard was working at Tim’s Bar on Wylie Avenue when he spotted a man with a gun just after midnight, according to police.

The guard escorted the man outside. The two started fighting, and the unidentified suspect pulled a gun from his waist band and ran around the building, officials said.

The guard followed the man and ordered him to drop his gun, he told police.

The man pointed the gun at the guard, who had his own gun and fired multiple times at the suspect, officials said.

A bullet struck a window at a residence on Webster Avenue, but nobody was hurt, officials said.

Pittsburgh police arrived soon after and detained both men.

The suspect was arrested for gun charged and multiple warrants. His identity has not been released.

The guard has not been charged.
