A North Side man who was being sought on accusations that he sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl is behind bars.

James McCray, 41, was charged earlier this week with unlawful contact with a minor, indecent assault and three counts of corruption of minors.

He was arrested Thursday and placed in the Allegheny County Jail after failing to post the $50,000 cash, according to court documents.

Pittsburgh police issued an arrest warrant for McCray on Tuesday .

McCray, who also goes by James Wilson, previously was convicted of multiple rapes and sexual assaults, according to the Megan’s Law Website.

In the most recent incident, police said McCray offered a ride to a teen girl shortly after 7 a.m. on Sept. 27.

But instead of taking her to her destination, McCray took her to his house, according to police.

McCray picked up alcohol and marijuana and assaulted the girl in his vehicle, police said.
