Authorities have identified a man found dead on Pittsburgh’s South Side last week.

Pittsburgh police responded about 8 a.m. Thursday to a wooded area near train tracks on South Seventh Street above East Carson.

Steven Michael O’Brien, 38, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Investigators have said that O’Brien’s death did not appear recent.

A cause of death has not been released.
